One plus one is three

While this equation does not add up in the world of banking, it is often correct in the realm of art. After all, art is free, looks beyond borders, is unconventional and creates new perspectives. And this fascinates Rabobank because it keeps you alert and focused.

Rabobank has been inspired by art for nearly 25 years. This passion has even led it to acquire art in order to develop a leading collection of contemporary art. While the collection initially concentrated on Dutch masterpieces, the scope will be expanded from 2009 to include works from international artists as well.

The works of art are displayed in Rabobank Nederland’s buildings and are consequently viewed by thousands of customers and colleagues every day. A growing number of local member Rabobanks now also collect art themselves and follow the Rabo Art Collection policy in developing their collections. This enables each local member Rabobank to build an art collection that showcases a distinctively local colour.

It is a privilege to have art so near to us. And we will fortunately soon be able to share this privilege with an even larger audience when the Rabo Art Collection will be presented in alternating exhibitions at the semi-public exhibition space at the new administrative centre located on the Croeselaan in Utrecht (scheduled for completion in 2011). It will serve as a location for interaction and inspiration.
