The Wahlverwandtschaft Bouwfonds Art Collection - Museum Belvédère exhibition will be on display at the Museum Belvédère in Heerenveen, the Netherlands from 15 May through 16 August 2009. This unique exhibition shows works from the Bouwfonds Art Collection (a division of the Rabo Real Estate Group) in a direct relationship with works from the museum’s own collection. The related focus when selecting the works for this event was on the strong affinities between the two collections. Bringing these likenesses to light entailed unearthing the interfaces that lie deeper than superficial similarities without losing sight of the autonomous qualities of both collections.

This resulted in an exhibition that brings the works of diverse artists with seemingly different visions and backgrounds into a direct and mutual dialogue. While museum exhibitions comprised of works from different corporate collections have been presented in the past, this is the first time a cohesive combination based on a close collaboration between a company and a museum has been shown in the Netherlands.
A publication is being presented in conjunction with this exhibition that features an introduction written by Eva Rovers that looks at the relationship between museums and corporate collections.
The exhibition comprises works by artists including Lucassen, JCJ Vanderheyden, Willem van Althuis, Ben Akkerman, Jan Roeland, Fred Pollack, Marthe Wéry, Roger Raveel, André de Jong, Raoul De Keyser, Robert Zandvliet and Jan Snijder.
